Where do we start with this magical pair! We couldn’t bring ourselves to sell these gorgeous pieces individually. The gentle colours of pink, maroon and red amongst the soft beige’s and browns which swirl into heart shapes, almost as if this tree had masses of love to give. The polished slices are also slightly heart shaped and appear as a pair of fairy wings!

These Petrified Wood Slices have formed from the fallen coniferous trees from 211-218 million years ago, found primarily scatted across the deserts of Arizona.
The result of a tree having completely transitioned to stone. All the organic materials have been replaced with minerals (such as quartz), while retaining the original structure of the stem tissue. All of the markings and patterning in these petrified wood slices are from the original tree’s growth rings and knots.
